DBB Architecture, P.C. has collaborated with Federal, State and local public agencies such as the Administration for Children's Services (ACS) to resolve complex design and code compliance issues, and address multiple life safety concerns in various facilities throughout the City. DBB Architecture, P.C. continues to emphasize through its work, life safety, code compliance and design efficiency as important and integral components of architecture.
The firm’s portfolio includes several early learning and child development facilities throughout New York City. DBB recently completed contract documents for a new childcare facility to service over 400 children in the Sunset Park community of Brooklyn, New York. Construction is scheduled to begin in late March 2012.
DBB Architecture, P.C. along with other consultant firms recently completed documents for a new 540,000 square feet Public Safety Answer Center II for the New York City Department of Design and Construction (DDC), to be located in the Bronx. Currently under construction, this new facility will accommodate emergency dispatch services for the New York Police Department, the Fire Department of New York, and the Department of Information Technology and Telecommunications. DBB Architecture, P.C. guided the design team on all egress, life safety and code compliance issues.
DBB Architecture, P.C. is one of the firms currently engaged in the redesign and expansion of New York’s LaGuardia Airport Central Terminal Building for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey (PANYNJ). Completion of this project is tentatively scheduled for year 2022.
DBB Architecture, P.C. integrates sustainable design and energy conservation criteria into the practice of architecture, and remains committed in its efforts to deliver more “green buildings” to inner city communities. The firm is working with non-profit organizations to develop much needed affordable senior housing projects, especially in underserved minority communities. DBB is also actively engaged in the design and development of new supportive housing units, particularly for New York City residents inflicted by the HIV/AIDS virus.
