Established in 2001, the firm is incorporated in the State of New York, and is registered as a minority-owned business enterprise (MBE), certified by several local and State agencies. The firm currently practices in 5 regional States: New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania and Maryland.
In the past 20 years, DBB Architecture, P.C.’s client list has grown to include Federal, State and local government agencies, not-for-profit organizations and private developers. The firm maintains offices in White Plains, Tarrytown, and Valley Stream, strategically positioned to service clients throughout the region.
DBB Architecture, P.C.'s portfolio includes several remarkable projects with special emphasis on the enhancement of educational and healthcare facilities. The development and reinvention of quality early child development centers in underserved communities has remained a hallmark of this practice. DBB Architecture, P.C. has collaborated with the US Office of Head Start through the Administration for Children’s Services, Catholic Charities and other notable childcare providers to elevate the standards of early learning environments throughout the New York metropolitan area.
DBB Architecture, P.C. has joined forces with other firms to develop large government buildings such as the Public Safety Answering Center II for the New York City Department of Design and Construction (DDC). The award winning PSAC II project housing dispatch services for the New York Police Department (NYPD), the Fire Department of New York (FDNY), and the Department of Information Technology and Telecommunications (DOITT), was recognized by the American Institute of Architects with the 2017 Excelsior Award for Public Architecture, and the 2017 National Design Award by the Society of American Registered Architects.
The firm is also involved in the development of ongoing clinical research and training laboratory facilities by public agencies and other entities engaged in the current fight against the pandemic.
DBB remains actively engaged with local communities in efforts to revitalize environments in disrepair, regenerating viable social and economic value. DBB is working with religious groups to develop new facilities for worship and outreach programs. Collaborating with the Colorado-based Solomon Foundation (TSF), DBB recently completed design and construction of a new 500-seat worship facility for the Kings Church of Christ. Located in the East New York neighborhood of Brooklyn, this project was an exceptional adaptive reuse of an abandoned furniture warehouse.
For two decades, as architect-of-record, DBB has worked on several store projects in Harlem's first "big box" shopping mall, making this New York City neighborhood a thriving business and shopping experience.
DBB Architecture, P.C. was engaged as Associate Architect in the masterplanning phase for the Modernization of the LaGuardia Airport Central Terminal Building, which has completed construction and resumed commercial operations. Other transportation industry contributions include: expansion projects at the John F. Kennedy International Airport, and early phase work on the James A. Farley Post Office Building now recognized as the Daniel Patrick Moynihan Train Hall, an expansion of New York Penn Station.

DBB Architecture, P.C. is led by Dayo Babalola, who is the founder and chief executive officer of the firm. Early days in his professional career included work as a young architect for iconic, globally recognized architects such as Philip Johnson and Moshe Safdie, followed by a storied corporate design experience primarily with leading New York City design firms Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates (KPF) and Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM).
