Established in 2001, the firm is incorporated in the State of New York. DBB Architecture, P.C. is a minority-owned business enterprise (MBE), and is certified by several local and State agencies. The firm is currently licensed to practice in 5 regional States: New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania and Maryland.
DBB Architecture, P.C.’s clientele includes a wide selection of public and private sector entities, including Federal, State and local government agencies, not-for-profit organizations and private developers. With offices in White Plains, Tarrytown, and Valley Stream, the firm is strategically positioned to service clients throughout the northeastern US region.
DBB Architecture, P.C. has contributed to the New York City landscape through a variety of avenues, with special emphasis on the enhancement of educational and healthcare facilities in the region. The firm has been especially committed to development of early child development centers in underserved communities. Since its formation, DBB Architecture, P.C. has collaborated with the Administration for Children’s Services and the US Office of Head Start to upgrade multiple non-code compliant learning environments, expand existing facilities, and create new centers throughout the New York metropolitan area. These efforts have also included the implementation of flood mitigation, sustainability and resiliency strategies for such facilities. DBB Architecture, P.C. is also engaged with local non-profit organizations including the Catholic Diocese regional services, to pursue value-added adaptive reuse of shuttered educational facilities in the region.
DBB Architecture, P.C. teamed with other local consultant firms to design the Public Safety Answering Center II for the New York City Department of Design and Construction (DDC), located in the Bronx borough. The PSAC II accommodates emergency dispatch services for the New York Police Department (NYPD), the Fire Department of New York (FDNY), along with the Department of Information Technology and Telecommunications (DOITT). DBB Architecture, P.C. assisted the PSAC II design team with compliance of egress, life safety and code compliance issues.
DBB Architecture, P.C. is currently working alongside other laboratory planning consultants on the design and development of a new Public Health Laboratory for New York City. The Biosafety Level 3 facility will be constructed near the Harlem Hospital, and is expected to be completed at the end of 2023.
DBB remains actively engaged with local communities in efforts to revitalize environments in disrepair, regenerating viable social and economic value. DBB is working with religious groups to develop new facilities for worship and outreach programs in multiple New York boroughs. DBB Architecture, P.C. and The Solomon Foundation recently completed construction of a new 500 seat worship facility for the Kings Church of Christ, located in the East New York neighborhood of Brooklyn.
For two decades, DBB Architecture, P.C. has contributed to the development activity in the West 125th Street retail corridor. The firm has worked on multiple commercial store projects with local developers and retailers alike, to make this part of New York City an engaging and thriving business and shopping environment.
DBB Architecture, P.C. integrates sustainable design and energy conservation criteria into the practice of architecture and remains committed in its efforts to deliver more energy-efficient development to inner city communities. The firm is working with non-profit organizations to develop much needed affordable senior housing projects funded with state and local grant programs.
DBB provides building safety systems consulting services, among other post-occupancy consultant services to local property management companies and developers.
