Successful introduction of the first aluminum and structural glass clad building in one of New York’s blighted and lesser developed neighborhoods.
300,000 sf retail and entertainment complex to begin the revitalization of the Harlem community of New York City. Original retail tenants included The Disney Store, Modell’s Sports Department Store, HMV Records (now replaced with a Rainbow Department Store), Old Navy, Chase Bank, and a 3,000 seat cinema for Basketball legend Earvin “Magic” Johnson & Loews Entertainment Joint Venture Partners. The top floor is also home to the largest New York Sports Club facility in the northeast.
Harlem USA has evolved over 20 years to include a diverse array of businesses including multiple financial institutions, clothing retailers, dining establishments, and children oriented entertainment centers.
DBB Architecture PC has been the resident architect for this “big box” retail development for over two decades.
